I'm a swede with an INTJ personality type. I hold a BCS in Security Engineering from BTH and have worked in the tech industry since graduating in 2010.
I've had a fascination with computer science ever since I got infected by a computer virus in my youth. I wanted to understand how it worked. This lead to a focused obsession of which only a dedicated youth can have. Programming didn't click for me until I took up x86 Assembly to connect the dots. I still maintain that Assembly is the most straightforward and beautiful programming language.
The earliest source code of mine I still have available is from 2001 - an MP3 tag editor written in C. While it wouldn't pass a peer review today, the advancement and memory of achievement in each consecutive project around this time makes me appreciate and admire my younger self.
For anything that has piqued my interest, I'm haunted by the questions of "how?" and "why?" until I understand the subject on a fundamental level. I enjoy optimisation and automation and have a knack for finding inefficiencies and errors. The simple happy path is boring and I find joy in edge cases and understanding and navigating complex systems.
I'm obsessed with self improvement and self discovery. I always strive for the best version of Me, both physically and mentally. I maintain one to two obsession topics at a time which I periodically switch out. This will probably be a quest for life.
I'm a minimalist. I believe objects to be a form of self-imposed bondage. The less you have, the freer you are. I've found there's a correlation between my stress level and consumption and clutter. I use this knowledge to gauge my current mental state.
For rejuvenation I enjoy solo time in nature. It allows me to exist in the present and observe beauty without involving the critical mind. It also reminds me that everything is insignificant in the time-space of this self-correcting complex system.
Although I find little joy in conversation without substance, I'm fascinated by people - what makes them tick, life experiences that have shaped them, how their view points came to be, etc. This allows me to learn and expand my own views and understandings.
